Back we go! Back to the Mt Washington Hotel and Bretton Woods Resort for the 11th edition of this club favorite trip. Why is it so popular? Perhaps it's the fun of staying at the 120+ year old Mt Washington Hotel, a tremendous example of the Grand Mountain Hotels of an earlier era. Spacious, comfortable and charming, the Hotel has, for the last year, been undergoing an updating of guest rooms and gathering spaces as well as a freshening of some of the retail spots. It continues to offer multiple dining and drinking options, recreational opportunities (indoor and outdoor pools, full service Spa, hot tub, fire pits, etc), and any number of places to sit and enjoy tremendous views of the mountains.
Of course, there is a great ski mountain right across the street. Bretton Woods is well regarded for it's consistently good grooming and snowmaking. If there is any question about ski conditions, Bretton Woods is likely to have the best snow around and is rarely affected by wind issues. Lately the resort has added some fun glade skiing and, of course, the new gondola and Rosebrook Lodge. You don't downhill? The Nordic center will get you set up for Cross-country skiing or snowshoeing or perhaps rent a fat tire bike for a bit. A convenient shuttle bus system will get you anywhere "on campus" - really great for the skiers. Lots of local attractions a short drive away. As we did last year, we will plan for a group pizza party on Wednesday night.
We will be staying in our usual, although updated, deluxe 2-queen rooms. A slight increase in pricing this year puts us at $319 per person, per room. Lift tickets are $45 per day and will be multi-day (if you order two tickets you will get a 2-out-of-3- day ticket). You may order 1,2,or 3 tickets, be sure to mark that box when you register. It's best if you find your own roommate but I will try to match up singles. You must be a paid member of the UCSC to register. Deadline for registration and FULL PAYMENT is Sunday, December 6, 2026. Any questions please call or text 508-776-4694 Trip Leaders are Scott and Pam Northrop.
