Vancouver is in the heart of logging territory. The
waters
in and around the city are used to float logs downstream
to the plants. |
We had our own private bus from Vancouver to
Whistler.
"Intoxicants strictly prohibited." Darn, no
beer stop! |
 |
 |
The back 'o the bus. |
| A small section of Vancouver. |
 |
 |
The sun had already set and the bus had tinted
windows,
so I apologize for the dark photo. The mountains, fog
and water looked like something right out of the X-Files. |
Oh, wait a minute! The X-Files, as well as a few
Sci-Fi
features, were filmed right here in Vancouver. |

 |
This wall is one of the favorite local climbs. |
It's dark, blurry and hard to see, but try to use
your
imagination. The golf course seen up ahead was
featured in the movie Happy Gilmore. One of the
greens was the site of Bob Barker and Adam Sandler's
fight. |

The suspension bridge that leads into and out of the
city.
Once private (built for $6 mil.) and heavily tolled,
this bridge was eventually sold to the city for $6 mil.
It
is the only (? maybe first ?) suspension to be expanded
outwards beyond the supporting cables. |
| Vancouver, from the bridge. |

Yes, everything was in bloom. Kinda depressing, eh? |
