Alright, you got me. This isn't actually in the
village, but it is of the village! I took this on the
depressing trip down the mountain on the
gondola. Skiing down was not recommended. |
| It seemed like tropical weather down here on the
streets. The bottom of Blackcomb mountain is seen in the
distance. |
 |
 |
This stream between the villages is normally a full
river. The minimal snowfall this season is the cause. |
| Under the several feet of snow, we discovered these
bulbs already surfacing. The bulbs were as confused as we
were with the weather! |
 |
 |
Not only were they surfacing, they were in bloom! |
| Wow! The DPW did a great job cleaning the snow from
the sidewalks in town. Or was it the rain that did that?
The bottom of Whistler is seen in the distance. Rain down
here means snow up there! |
 |
 |
Yes, this woman (complete with ski boots) is headed
to the slopes with an umbrella! Rain, rain go away. Come
back on a colder day! |
| I could eat here every night! The best stir fry in
town. Grab a bowl, fill it with all the meat and veggies
you want. Next, put any combination of sauces on it. Hand
it to the chef who weighs it, then cooks it right in
front of your eyes. My first trip there resulted in a
$40, 1 kilogram bowl of food. I'm not very good with the
metric system, but it seemed like a lot! |

The crack o' noon club found this great playground
one day. It was the perfect background for a group photo
(minus a few). |
| Alright, enough of the damn flowers. They just don't
belong in a winter resort. |
 |
 |
Intrawest does such a great job with these
"manufactured" villages. It adds significantly
to the feel of the resort, even if it's, sort of, fake. |
| More fake village. |
 |
 |
The village only uses bear-proof trash barrels due to
the bears that reside on the mountain. Fortunately for
us, the bears didn't get the memo that spring had arrived
early. |
| Michael and Tim are all geared up for the ZipTrek.
Unfortunately, Tim's helmet-cam was not approved by the
tour guides. |
 |
 |
Clear days like these were very warm at lower
elevations. Up top, spring skiing at its best. |
