The Teton Range. The black spot in the grass below the mountains is a moose.
The Gros Ventre Slide, one of the largest earth movements in the world. On June 23, 1925, earth, rock and debris moved rapidly from an altitude of 9000 feet across the valley bottom and up the red slopes pictured below. The action lasted only minutes, but a river was dammed and the landscape changed. A small community downstream was destroyed and several people died in the slide. The rocks and debris can still be seen scattered about the land.
