Want to be a
TRIP LEADER?
Anyone who wants to lead a ski trip, raise your right hand!
Now don't worry, the only way you can volunteer is to fill out this form.
Beginner? Not a problem, we'll have you apprentice on one of the trips!
Intermediate? No sweat, you've done this before.  Give us a jingle and let us know which trip you want.
Advanced? We probably already know who you are.  How about teaching a beginner the ropes (not tow).
BENEFIT TO BEING A LEADER:
Besides a leadership role you  are also entitled to a paid ski trip if the trip has met a minimum number of 20 participants.  On day trips, the bus ride will always be paid for you, as long as the trip is going, you just pay the ski lift ticket.

  Dear Fellow Skiers,

A large group of us are just returning from Sugarloaf. Overall it was a fabulous time with private lessons each day, winter carnival activities, and night life. This is our "best value" package of skiing. Next year be sure to sign up early! Our two big trips are now on a waiting list basis. Snowmass/Aspen and Big Mountain/Fernie are sure to provide great skiing and boarding for those that are going.

Each year we spend a lot of time researching and planning trips. We are now working on our trip agenda for next year. As always, we appreciate your input. As I was perusing our website I noticed there are mountains that I hadn't even considered, such as those in Venezuela, Andorra, Chile, Bolivia, India. Let your imagination soar! Like the commercial says “Where do you want to go”? Let us know! And while you are at it consider becoming a trip leader. You can talk to any of the officers or board members to express your interest. I want to personally thank the members who have taken the initiative to become trip leaders this year. It is a great opportunity to ski for free and be more active with the club. Plus you are on your way to lead weekends or weeklong trips.

Take a moment and review our current schedule as it has been revamped for this season to take advantage of more skiing. The season is now in full swing so sign up soon and remember the last ski weekend will be at Jay Peak, VT. This is the second year running Jay Peak and we once again anticipate a sellout!

As everyone knows skiing can occasionally lead to injuries. We wish John Taylor well for injuring his shoulder while on the Stratton trip, and envy him for still going to Snowmass with the club. Hat’s off to John!

Hope to see you at our February 7th meeting.

Keep riding and skiing,

Suzanne Robertson

Here’s your chance to ski a little known resort that has the most snow in the East! Jay Peak reports an annual total of 340 inches of the fabulous white stuff each year. That’s more than twice as much as Killington.

Jay Peak also offers the only off-piste skiing in the East as well as abundant glade skiing for those wanting to challenge themselves.

Our accommodations are slope side at the Hotel Jay. Based upon double occupancy our package includes two dinners, three breakfasts, three lift tickets and three night’s lodging. All this for $269 per person! Space is limited to 20 people and this trip is guaranteed to be a sellout.

The trip leader is Diane Payson.
