Some words from the Prez.
Dear Members, I hope you are all enjoying your
summer! The trip committee has been hard at work planning for winter and
by the looks of it we will have a great season. Our two big trips have
been finalized with Aspen scheduled for school vacation week and Big
Mountain/Fernie for the ten day trip. Both of these trips will sell out as
they have done in the past and I urge you to send in your deposit as soon
as possible so you don’t get closed out. The day trips have also been
finalized and we have a busy schedule ahead of us. Let’s hope Mother
Nature gives us another banner snow year like last year. We have a summer event planned
which is a sailing sunset cruise on September 1st. This will be a first
for our club and we anticipate a good showing so get your check to Doug
Baker, the trip leader, as soon as possible. See page 7 for all the
details. Please also note that we have a
new meeting place and date. We are returning to Jillian’s in North
Falmouth which will better suit our needs for space as we continue to grow
our club. That move has necessitated changing our meeting day from Monday
to Thursday. I hope everyone can join us at our new day and location. Food
will be available and Chef Richard Davis the owner was recently featured
on national television for his culinary skill on the dinner train from
Hyannis. Lastly I ask all of you to be
aware that elections will be coming up soon and we need nominations for
officers and volunteers to serve on committees. We are also in need of a
treasurer for the club books. Our records are Quicken based and easy to
learn. Looking forward to skiing and boarding with you, Jack Reardon, President JUMP INTO WINTER WITH THE UPPER CAPE SKI CLUB
